Recommendations of the Editorial team
On October 24th, Ringo Starr’s first four solo albums will be released in limited new editions. “Sentimental Journey,” “Beaucoups Of Blues,” “Ringo” and “Goodnight Vienna” are being reissued by Universal Music on different colored vinyls.
Four vinyls in a limited new edition
The four records were released between 1970 and 1974, after the Beatles had broken up. On “Sentimental Journey” the drummer presents twelve cover versions of classics from the American songbook. The follow-up album “Beaucoups of Blues” is dedicated to country and folk.
Remembrance of working with the Beatles colleagues
For “Ringo,” Ringo Starr worked again with his former Beatles colleagues John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison – as well as Robbie Robertson, Garth Hudson, Levon Helm and Rick Danko from The Band and Marc Bolan from T. Rex.
It includes tracks such as “Photograph”, “You’re Sixteen (You’re Beautiful And You’re Mine)”, the Lennon-written “I’m The Greatest” and “Oh My My”. The new edition contains the original 24-page booklet in a gatefold sleeve.
“Goodnight Vienna” followed in 1974. Ringo Starr worked with John Lennon, Elton John, Dr. John, Billy Preston, Robbie Robertson and Harry Nilsson together. The album contained, among others, the songs “No-No Song”, “Only You (And You Alone)” and “Occapella”. All of this will soon be available on record again.
Ringo Starr is still active today: At the beginning of this year he released his latest and 21st studio album “Look Up” – a country album.
