Kenneth Kipkemoi was the big favorite to win the ASML Marathon Eindhoven and lived up to the high expectations. The 41-year-old Kenyan was the first to cross the finish line on Sunday.
Kipkemoi was clearly too good for the competition on the streets of Eindhoven. He ran the last kilometers solo to the finish in a time of 2:06:33.
The Kenyan was also the best in Eindhoven in 2023, with a time of 2.04.52. It is his third marathon win in the Netherlands, because he also won the Rotterdam marathon in 2018.
Compatriot Vincent Kipyegon finished second in Eindhoven in 2.08.32. He had gone so deep that he had to throw up immediately after the finish. Third place went to Kenyan Robert Kipchirchir in 2.08.56.
