AS Monaco has found a successor for the dismissed Adi Hütter. The Champions League participant uses Belgium.
New coach at AS Monaco: The Ligue 1 club announced on Saturday evening that Sébastien Pocognoli will succeed Adi Hütter. The Belgian comes from the first division club Union Saint-Gilloise, where he has been in office since 2024.
There Pocognoli took over the coaching position from Alexander Blessin, who now works at FC St. Pauli. Under his leadership, the capital city club achieved the first championship title in club history. The 38-year-old also led Saint-Gilloise into the Champions League. His contract originally ran until the end of the season.
In Germany, Pocognoli is known for his time at Hannover 96. Between 2013 and 2014, the former full-back played 30 Bundesliga games for Lower Saxony.
On Friday, Monaco released coach Adi Hütter. It is still unclear who will replace Pocognoli at Union Saint-Gilloise.
