He took over from Laura Kooij. “We have a very nice group, which gives me energy. They fight every game. So I can keep myself busy with basketball, which is a real luxury for a coach.”
What has Koopman learned since he started as a coach? “Women’s basketball and men’s basketball are really different. The intricacies of what we should emphasize in training. Coaching, especially during games, is still really new.”
The victory puts Bennes’ team at the top of the Women’s Basketball League with eight points after five matches. That is the same as Grashopper, Landslake Lions and Jolly Jumpers. Den Helder is one spot lower with six points.
