Singer and guitarist Felix Maginn (1969) was born and raised in Northern Ireland. So he only got to know the Dutch bands much later. “You hear some coal English in the Nederbeat bands from that time, but that also has its charm,” says Felix with a laugh.

“But songs like Venus from Shocking Blue is of course a great song and can compete with work by the Beatles, Kinks and Stones.”

Don’t imitate

Just like with The Analogues, with which they made a splash with the work of The Beatles, the musicians of Timebox try to get as close as possible to the original songs. They carefully selected the music and the voices.

Yet they do not want to imitate. For example, Diederik sings the song True Love, that’s a wonder by Sandy Coast. “I don’t try to imitate singer Hans Vermeulen, but I do want to get close to the feeling of his voice.”
