Wendy van Dijk’s presenting career is completely at a standstill now that SBS 6 produces so little studio entertainment. Is the presenter pissed off at Hélène Hendriks, who is now moving in her own direction?

Presenters of major entertainment are currently having a hard time, because TV channels are increasingly focusing on current programs and cheap reality. SBS 6 mainly focuses on Today Inside, which fills half of all prime time hours during the week. Presenters like Wendy van Dijk suffer from this, because there is little left for her.

Passed Wendy

While Wendy is at home without a program, SBS 6 has now decided to give Hélène Hendriks an entertainment show. She will present the new season of The Winner Takes It All, which was presented in the past by Beau van Erven Dorens. A striking choice.

TV authority Tina Nijkamp asks in her podcast asked: “Will Wendy van Dijk feel passed over by Hélène Hendriks regarding The Winner Takes It All?”

Leading lady

Tina indeed finds it salient. “Yes, Hélène Hendriks will present that and not Wendy van Dijk, who normally does all the big shows on SBS 6. Linda de Mol of course does Miljoenenjacht and very occasionally a new format; she now does that on RTL 4.”

“But for the rest, we have of course mainly seen Wendy van Dijk in that leading lady role in recent years and now Hélène Hendriks is doing that. Will she feel passed over? I honestly don’t think so strangely enough.”

Pure assumption

Wendy seems to have accepted that her heyday is over, according to Tina. “I actually think – but hey, that’s a pure assumption, I don’t know Wendy van Dijk at all, I haven’t spoken to her in the past fifteen years – that she might focus more on acting.”

“We know that Wendy van Dijk no longer has to work for the money, we know that her contract has been converted into a much less lucrative and freer contract with SBS 6, and I think that she will really focus on acting instead of presenting. So I think she will not be very concerned about Hélène taking over that role.”
