The German team sports specialist Jako AG will be equipping another football club starting next year. On Thursday, the company announced that it would become the new supplier of FC Winterthur.
The partnership with the club, whose men’s professional team plays in the Swiss Super League, begins with the 2026/27 season. From then on, Jako says he will be responsible for “equipping all of the club’s teams – from the professionals to the youngsters – with playing and training clothing.”
FC Winterthur, which has the smallest budget of all Swiss first division clubs, is considered a cult club in the country because of its special fan culture. The association sees itself “as a cultural heritage of the city – ‘small, fine, loud, different, colorful’,” explained Jako. In particular, the sports owner highlighted the club’s social commitment: “The FCW is involved in a wide range of social projects, promotes integration, advocates for respect, tolerance and diversity and stands clearly against discrimination and violence,” it said in a statement. Both parties also know each other very well: Jako had already equipped FC Winterthur from 2002 to 2011.
Tobias Röschl, who is responsible for marketing and sales on the Jako board, praised the future collaboration. “We are very pleased about the partnership with FC Winterthur,” he said in a statement. “The club stands for passion, team spirit and a strong connection with its fans – values that we also live by at Jako. We are particularly proud to be represented again with a club in the top Swiss league from next season.”
