AS Monaco has parted ways with its coach, who is well-known in Germany. The successor should be the coach of Bayern’s Champions League opponent Union Saint-Gilloise.
AS Monaco has fired former Bundesliga coach Adi Hütter after just seven match days in the new season. According to information from the French news agency AFP, the Belgian Sébastien Pocognoli will be the Austrian’s successor. It would be an exchange between Champions League participants.
Pocognoli is currently the coach of Union Saint-Gilloise, which faces FC Bayern on the penultimate matchday of the league phase. Apparently the Monegasques had previously not been able to agree on a collaboration with former Dortmund coach Edin Terzić.
On Thursday, Hütter said goodbye to the team, which is currently fifth in the table after two defeats this season, but only three points behind leaders PSG. On the first matchday of the Champions League, Monaco lost 1:4 to their Munich opponents FC Brugge, then there was a draw (2:2) against Manchester City.
