Everyone knows Ferrari as the brand known for speed, but in the electric age, power is no longer a distinguishing factor. For example, the Yangwang U9 beat the Bugatti record for fastest production car.
Ferrari Elettrica not faster than Tesla
At Ferrari they do not go along with the horsepower inflation and so they show an electric car with ‘only’ 1,000 hp in boost mode. This results in a zero-to-hundred sprint of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h. The Tesla Model S Plaid does all this better.
The Ferrari has four electric motors – two on each axle. These power sources have not been purchased, but developed in-house. Although the power is no longer that impressive, Ferrari claims that during maximum acceleration, up to 3,000 Nm are released on the front axle and 8,500 Nm on the rear axle. Those are insane numbers.
The motors draw energy from a 122 kWh battery pack that should allow you to drive up to 530 kilometers. Of course, the Ferrari Elettrica has an 800-volt on-board network for quick discharge and charging. He does the latter with a maximum of 350 kW at the fast charger. The batteries are also designed and assembled in-house. The battery is constructed in such a way that it can be replaced or upgraded over time.
A four-seater
Although the chassis and body consist of 75 percent recycled aluminum and the battery with an energy density of 195 Wh/kg is relatively light, the Ferrari weighs 2,300 kg. This not only has to do with the fact that it is an EV, but also because it is a four-seater. It is still unclear whether it will be a crossover like the Purosangue or more of a GTC4Lusso variant.
New DS 4 is cheaper and therefore more competitive than ever
It is striking that the wheelbase of the Ferrari Elettrica is relatively small, that of the GTC4Lusso is even slightly larger. This means the EV must be quite agile.
Chassis first electric Ferrari
The chassis of the first electric Ferrari is quite similar to that of the Ferrari Purosangue and the F80. How exactly the complicated dampers work, explains Autovisie editor Dries van den Elzen.
Sound
An electric Ferrari lacks the sound of a wonderful V8 or V12. The Italians have come up with a solution for that. They do not play an MP3, but use a sensor that picks up sounds from the drivetrain. The Ferrari therefore amplifies the sound of, for example, the differentials and electric motor.
What is completely fake are the switching points that are just like with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N can be turned on. Even engine braking during downshifts is imitated.
Citroën BX Sport from the Flodder family is now for sale as a used car
The fully electric Ferrari Elettrica is expected to show itself in the first half of 2026. It is still unclear what exactly it looks like and what its price will be.
