Course for one of the greatest voices in American music history: Dolly Parton, 79, postponed her Las Vegas-Residency planned for the end of the year. The reason is “health challenges” that currently require a hospital stay.
Official statement by Dolly Parton
In an official statement, Parton showed itself humorously and openly as usual: “My doctors say I need a few minor interventions. I told them it is probably time for my 100,000 mile check,” said Parton with a wink. “But this time it’s not a visit to the cosmetic surgeon.”
At the same time, she emphasized her responsibility towards her audience: “I cannot currently rehearse and put the show on its feet that you earn. Those who pay good money should also see a strong show. I have to be fit again.”
Rest phase instead of retreat
Although Parton continues to work on their projects in Nashville, a phase of calm is now at the foreground: “Don’t worry – I don’t stop. God didn’t tell me anything about it. But I think he is telling me right now.”
Sister Freida asks fans for prayers
Her sister Freida Parton found touching words, who turned to the fans on Tuesday with a public prayer call. In a Facebook post, she wrote: “Last night I prayed for my sister Dolly all night. Many know that she is not quite as good for health. I believe firmly in the power of prayer and ask all the people who love to pray for her. She is strong, she is loved in my heart that she gets completely healthy again. God bless you, my dolly.”
No show cancellation-but new strength for upcoming projects
Parton’s withdrawal from the stage is not a farewell. Rather, she uses the time to draw strength – for new projects and future appearances. A few months ago, she announced new music and a musical about her life that is currently under development. Her orchestral live project “Threads: My Songs in Symphony” is also to be continued-as soon as it is completely recovered.
