Albert Verlinde gets a serious tease from Youp van ‘t Hek. He makes fun of the role of the show expert at the RTL Tonight desk. “A second-hand interpreter!”

Things remain sour for Albert Verlinde: of course he would like to leave the ratings flop RTL Tonight with screeching tires, but he has the feeling that he cannot do that. He is loyal to channel boss Peter van der Vorst, but in the meantime Albert is ending his TV career in a very sad way. Does he really want the ending to be like this?

Secondhand Albert

RTL Tonight is just very boring. Albert showed up yesterday to talk about the Eyeballs series, but those are typical of those services you expect from Aran Bade and Rob Goossens. Unfortunately, Albert is heading in exactly the same direction in his old age: where he was a trendsetter at Today Inside, he is now an interchangeable expert.

Youp van ‘t Hek is not impressed either. He thinks RTL Tonight is sad and speaks in his VARA guide column of ‘a strange desk with a row of second-hand interpreters of the Albert Verlinde level’. It is the second time in a short time that the comedian has lashed out at Albert, because he also did that last month.

Bad broadcast

This new sneer from Youp follows the RTL Tonight broadcast in which Rob Jetten was a guest. Television that produces nothing, that’s what the former comedian believes.

He writes: “In the course of my cheerful life as a comedian, I have regularly been a guest on one of the talk shows and on such an evening there was always some Mona or other political yo-yo rattling off a rehearsed routine. Usually without too much contradiction.”

‘Zap!’

Youp is already tired of the election season. “Don’t the political parties also realize that we as viewers get tired at some point? That our remote control starts zapping on its own when Caroline sits at a talk show table for the fourteenth time?”

Some party leaders even have to go to Harry Mens from their campaign team. “In short: I would also like to have a little pity for the worn-out politicians.”
