For years the Philips Stadium was filled to the ridge for the ‘big with a soft G’ concerts by Guus Meeuwis. Anyone who follows him will remain a mystery. But it is already clear that international artists will come to Eindhoven for a performance in the stadium. Shows will also take place. That is what the organizer of the shows states on Tuesday morning in the radio program Keeigoeiemorgen! from Omroep Brabant.
To be clear: Guus Meeuwis does not return, says Jasper van de Wouw of organizer This is Life Group. The company behind, among others, Paaspop and Wish Outdoor with which PSV has entered the sea for the organization of events. Under the name Life at Philips Stadium Shows and concerts will take place in the Eindhoven Stadium. The organization is aiming for five to seven events next year.
Also a Dutch concept
But who will be on stage later? “That is of course The Big Question. I can’t say anything about that yet, “Jasper responds in the broadcast. What he does say is that it is about international names.” Not everything has been confirmed yet, “he says.” And we are also working on a very nice Dutch concept. In that corner you have to look for it a bit. “
The name Bryan Adams is thrown in the broadcast, after which it stays quiet for a while. “Of course it could be, but the honesty commands: no matter how big and beautiful Bryan Adams is, we are talking about a stadium. Then there will be a different caliber act. Maybe a level bigger.”
Jasper expects to be able to announce the first two own shows in the first week of November. New shows will follow later that month.
For years, the Philips Stadium was the backdrop for the ‘big with a soft G’ concerts by Guus Meeuwis. Whether new concerts could follow after his last concert series was a question for a long time. It was dependent on how the field would keep. “We will eventually remain a football club,” PSV said earlier. But now there is green light and the Philips Stadium is preparing for new concerts and shows.
