The former world champion Fabio Cannavaro will look after the national team of Uzbekistan at the World Cup next summer. The 52 -year -old Italian signed a contract with the association on Monday. An oral promise is said to have already existed in the previous week.
According to previous media reports, ex-national coach Joachim Löw is also said to have included the candidate group. The Central Asian country is at the tournament in the USA, Mexico and Canada for the first time at a final round. The association was looking for a new coach after the resignation of the Slovenian Srecko Katanec due to health problems.
