Uwe Rösler is said to breathe new life into the second division club VfL Bochum. The 56-year-old trusts his experience and gut feeling.

Uwe Rösler has his work as the new head coach on Monday VfL Bochum recorded. “I’m the Uwe,” said Rösler at his inaugural PK, to which he appeared to match the club color in blue training jacket. “I am pleased that I can now sit on the hot seat. I know about my responsibility. In the pot is football religion. My gut feeling told me: that’s it.”

The trainer is aware that a lot of work is waiting for him. But Rösler dares to do this challenge. “I have already taken over clubs under similar conditions in the past. I trust my experience.” He then explained in a calm voice and clear ideas on how to get the crishing second division club back on the road to success. “The team needs a sense of achievement for self -confidence. We have to try to work out.” It is also important to bring back the fans with success and services.

Rösler believes in quality in the team

Rösler has almost two weeks during the international break to turn the right adjustment screws. His focus is on bringing his new team to a high level of intensity with a lot of running – and at the same time also working on defensive behavior. The team has enough quality to fight the difficult situation. The coach, who has already trained in addition to Fortuna Düsseldorf, has already trained clubs in Norway, England, Sweden and Denmark.

Above all, the midfield convinces the trainer: “This can be the heart of the team,” said Rösler, who wants to “get over the wings”. With a new tactic and new self-confidence, the 56-year-old wants to get the “turnaround” as soon as possible. A debut will make Rösler at the home game against Hertha BSC on October 18 (8:30 p.m.).

Support by Riedle and Zoller

On Castroper Straße he is supported by Alessandro Riedle as an assistant coach. The 34-year-old son of the 1990 world champion Karl-Heinz Riedle worked until the end of last season as the first assistant coach at the Swiss first division club FC Zurich. In Bochum he follows Murat Ural.

Rösler also supports a former VfL professional in his future tasks. “Simon Zoller will move closer to the professional team and work closely with Uwe Rösler. What is the exact role in what is still being announced,” said Managing Director Ilja Kaenzig. The association had already confirmed in April that the ex-striker will take on a task at VfL in the future.

Under Siebers three times pointless

VfL, who separated from Chef Coach Dieter Hecking and sports manager Dirk Dufner on September 15th, is deep in the table cellar. With only three points from eight season games, Bochum is the penultimate in front of 1st FC Magdeburg. Most recently, VfL had remained pointless in three games under U19 coach David Siebers.

It is about “saying goodbye to the table as soon as possible from these regions as soon as possible,” said Rösler. The “spirit” for this is absolutely there.
