The Berlin Womenswear brand Ivy Oak gets support from the Danish fashion group DK Company, which also includes brands such as Wood, Gestuz, Solid and Ichi.
DK Company is investing in Ivy Oak, whereby Ivy Oak GmbH, the company behind the Berlin Womenswear brand, is restructured into the IVY OAK APS, the parties announced on Thursday. Part of the restructuring is also a new location in Copenhagen, which is established in addition to the creative studio in Berlin, as well as a new management. This is intended to strengthen the presence of the brand in Scandinavia and at the same time expand its international ambitions.
DK Company boss takes over
In the future, the company will be managed by Jens Obel Jorgensen, co-owner and CEO of the DK Company. He takes on this role from Ivy Oak founder Caroline Gentz, who will concentrate on the creative direction and vision of the brand. Gentz, who remains co -owner, is also a member of the board of the Ivy Oak APS.
The company’s social structure now consists of DK Company, JWL, the venture from Caroline Gentz, as well as long -time shareholders: inside and mentor: inside who have been accompanying the brand since its foundation.
“This partnership brings Ivy Oak the operational excellence and international size of the DK Company, while at the same time we remain anchored in our creative DNA and our sustainable values,” said Gentz. “With Jens and the DK Company, which the operational backbone and the global platform provide, we position Ivy Oak for the next phase of sustainable growth and international expansion.”
Gentz founded the sustainable-oriented Womenswear brand Ivy Oak 2016 in Berlin. It is currently available from fashion retailers: inside such as Breuninger, Engelhorn, About You, Peek & Cloppenburg and Zalando as well as via digital direct sales. Even after the restructuring, the focus should continue to be on direct sales and wholesale on the channels. The most important initiatives include expanding the Never Out of Stock program and the development of the Rerun concept.
“The DK Company is proud to announce its second acquisition in Germany, which is a significant step in the company’s international growth strategy,” said Obel Jorgensen. “This step is a key element to strengthen our local presence in Germany and to build a solid basis in one of the most important fashion markets in Europe.”
