Ex-DFB goalkeeper gives birth to the fourth child

The Olympic champion ended her career in March. Now the 34-year-old can look forward to further young people.
Almuth Schult has become a mother for the fourth time. The former national soccer goalkeeper shared the news in her podcast “Almuths Bauen-T” with the listeners. There the 34-year-old said: “How everyone can imagine, if this episode is a bit shorter this week, we have become a new earthly citizen. Our daughter was born.”
The 2016 Olympic champion had already received children during her active career. In 2020 she gave birth to twins, followed by the third child in 2023. It was not until the end of March of this year that the long -time goalkeeper of VfL Wolfsburg ended her active career.
In retrospect, the 66-time international reported difficulties in professional football for players with family. “One or two years at the highest level would still have been in it, but it no longer wanted to sign me a top club,” she said after her career end. In her view, her role as mother was “the main reason”, “why discussions failed”.
