At a synagogue in the British city of Manchester, at least four people were injured in what looks like an anti -Semitic attack. The police shot the suspected perpetrator, she writes on X.

According to a witness statement in the hands of the police, someone with a car was run into the crowd at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation. Three people were injured as a result. Then the driver got out and stabbed someone else. The report arrived at 9.31, at 9.38 am the police shot the perpetrator. Mayor Andy Burnham said to BBC Radio That it is “thought” that the suspect has died, but that it has not yet been confirmed.

It is Thursday Jom Kipoer, the holiest day of the Jewish year, and the most important Jewish holiday. Many Jews visit the synagogue on that day. It is not yet clear how the injuries are doing.

The British Prime Minister Keir Starmer says on X To be “shocked” by the attack. He flies back early from the EU summit in Denmark. Starmer announced that more police will be used for synagogues, AP reports.
