The former BVB attacker shows deeply in an interview. He also reports on the severe loss of a good friend.
In a TV documentary, Erling Haaland gave insights into his personal fears-and speaks as openly as it was before. In the portrait series “A-Laget” The Norwegian Rundfunk NRK comments, among other things, about his fear of death.
“I’m actually a bit scared because I don’t know what’s going to happen,” said the 25-year-old. And further: “It is a bit scary if you lie alone in bed before falling asleep and think: ‘What happens on the day I die? Do I come to heaven? Will I come to hell? Where can I go?”
Haaland becomes emotionally when he talks about the death of his close friend Ivar Eggja. Shortly before his death, this courage granted him – with the words that he should go out and “destroy everything on the pitch”. The loss hit him deeply, as did the death of his grandparents and his former consultant Mino Raiola.
Eggja also advised him to enjoy his life. “He wanted me to do the best possible out of my life, even without him,” said Haaland, “it is important to keep it in my head”.
