David Gilmour announced that he “no longer feels comfortable” while singing three songs from Pink Floyd. So one should not hope that he will take these pieces into account on his upcoming tour.
There is always: musicians who no longer feel like the live performance of their giant hits. At some point Kurt Cobain had no desire for the Nirvana hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Thom Yorke and colleagues quickly stroked her first classic, “Creep”, quickly from the set list of her concerts.
“Run Like Hell” – “scary”
Now also Gilmour. The 78-year-old pointed out that there were pink floyd songs, which he would probably not perform on the “Luck and Strange” tour for the new record of the same name. The guitarist said to “Mojo”:
“There are songs from the past that I no longer like to sing,” he said. ‘I love’ run like Hell ”. I loved the music that I created for it, but all the“ You’d Better run, run, run… ”I think now, I don’t know … a little scary and violent.” The song appeared on “The Wall” in 1979.
The album does not experience a mercy from him: “‘Another Brick in the Wall’ is another song that I will not play. I also don’t think I have played it with my own band so far. But I have certainly done it in time after Roger Waters’ exit at Pink Floyd against my better knowledge.”
“The same applies to ‘Money'”
Hard goal, “Another Brick in the Wall” counts, whose often performed single version is strictly speaking “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)”, but one of the greatest classics in the British band catalog.
And David Gilmour still has a deep blow: “The same applies to ‘Money’. I won’t play that.” “Money” is a hit from the 1973 work “The Dark Side of the Moon”.
However, Gilmour added that he would still play some Pink Floyd fan favorites on the tour. “I will stick to those who are essentially my music and where I feel a bit as owners.
Small consolation: David Gilmour Betourt with “Luck and Strange” the world. Concerts in Germany have not yet been planned.
