“You never know”
Klopp excludes the return – but can be opened back door

Jürgen Klopp has been working at Red Bull since the beginning of the year. But not as a coach in Salzburg or Leipzig. Nothing should change in the future – actually.
After his farewell to Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp pulled a clear line under his coaching career – at least for the time being. In that time afterwards he “did sports. We enjoyed life, spent time with the grandchildren, normal things that know that I will work again. But also knowing that I no longer want to work as a trainer,” said the 58-year-old in an interview with “The Athletic”.
Nevertheless, he does not want to completely exclude a possible comeback. “But you never know. I’m 58. If I started again at 65, everyone would say: ‘You said you would never do that again!’ Um, sorry, I was 100 percent sure!
Klopp has been working as a Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull since the beginning of the year and is therefore also responsible for the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. This new role opens up freedom that he did not know before.
“I didn’t miss anything in my life because I never thought about it. In almost 25 years I was at a wedding twice – one of which was my own and the other was two months ago. In 25 years I was in the cinema – everyone in the past eight weeks. Now it is nice to be able to do that,” said Klopp.
He compared everyday life as a coach at a top level with the work of a film star-and made a comparison to one of his favorite actors. “He is on the film set, and a film set is not what we see later in the cinema. You sit there and play the same scene 25 times. You don’t think about these things. But I had this life. I know how almost all football managers live. They live for their job, they do everything. Without this attitude, you cannot be successful in this business.”
Only one was an exception for him: Pep Guardiola. “He improved his golf handicap with increasing age. I didn’t have a damn minute to play Golf. That’s why he is a genius and I am not.”
