Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the coming days. This was announced by the representative of the Turkish President Ibrahim Kalin at the international forum in Doha.
“President Erdogan spoke with Putin on the Ukrainian issue and plans to speak with him again in the coming days,” said an adviser to Erdogan (quote “RIA News”).
The last time Erdogan and Putin called on March 17. The heads of state discussed the Russian military operation in Ukraine.

The office of the Turkish President reported that during the conversation Erdogan expressed “a sincere desire to ensure peace between Russia and Ukraine” and hope for “positive results of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.” In addition, he repeated his proposal to hold a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul or Ankara. The Kremlin reported that “special emphasis was placed on the humanitarian component.”
