Copenhagen (dpa -AfX) – After the repeated drone alarm in Denmark, the government in Copenhagen is faced with a new reality. Since last Thursday, no significant disorders of Danish air traffic have been seen, Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard said at a press conference. Unfortunately, one has to get used to a new reality in which other European countries also experienced similar drone incidents, including Germany, he said.

Hummelgaard spoke of “hybrid warfare” with which one was dealing with. Just as the terrorist threat after the attacks of September 11, 2001 had become part of the reality, hybrid attacks have become part of the new reality.

There has been a drone alarm in Denmark for a week. Only on Monday the viewing of several larger drones had led to the hourly closure of the Copenhagen capital’s airport on Monday. On Wednesday evening, drones appeared again over several other airports in the west of NATO country, which led to the closure of the airspace over the airport Aalborg, among other things. Since then, the authorities have been reported hundreds of drone sightings in the country, without this being caused greater effects.

It is still unclear who is behind the incidents, as Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said at the press conference. Russia’s possible involvement is still not excluded, even if the Kremlin had rejected corresponding allegations as “reasonable” ./trs/dp/men
