From 1 January 2026, Flemish Minister for Animal Welfare Ben Weyts (N-VA) will introduce a system of administrative transactions for whom the Animal Welfare Act is violating. Violators will have to pay their fines faster and be less easy to avoid. From now on, clients of animal suffering will also risk a sum of money.
