Niclas Füllkrug gets a new coach

West Ham United hangs his own demands far behind this season. That’s why the trainer has to go.
For national player Niclas Füllkrug, the coaching carousel at West Ham United continues. The Premier League club separated from team manager Graham Potter on Saturday-after less than nine months in office.
“The results and performance of the second half of the last and at the beginning of the current season did not meet expectations,” said the club announcement. After five league games with just one win, West Ham was in table place 19.
On Friday, Potter headed the press conference before the game against Everton’s game, and the discharge followed a day later. For Füllkrug it has been the third coach since moving from Borussia Dortmund to England in August 2024.
Potter had taken over the “Hammers” on January 9, 2025 as the successor to Julen Lopetegui, who was also in office for only a few months. West Ham ended the 2024/25 season on the table 14.
According to the English media, the top candidate is Nuno Espírito Santo. The Portuguese was only the first coach of the current season at Nottingham Forest in early September.
