The 194th Congress of the World Cycling Association (UCI) was held for the first time in the African continent with the record participation of 136 countries in Rwanda’s capital Kigali. Rwanda President Paul Kagame was the opening speech of the congress. Emin Müftüoğlu was elected to the board of directors with 37 votes among the 9 names from Europe. Müftüoğlu will take part in the UCI Board of Directors for the second time in the global management of the bike.

Between 2013-2016, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of UCI and the Chairman of the World Mountain Bike Commission.

In the General Assembly held in Kigali, the President of the Turkish Cycling Federation Emin Müftüoğlu as a delegation of Turkish Cyprus Cengiz, Supervisory Board Member Hayri Cavusoglu, Chairman of the Global Journalists Council Chairman Mehmet Ali Dim and Federation Projects Coordinator. Emin Müftüoğlu: “We will raise the Turkish bike in the international arena”

In the post -election assessment, Emin Müftüoğlu said: “Today, not only for my own step, I am proud of Turkey and the Turkish bicycle. The work we carry out to spread bicycle sport in Türkiye is now a response on the international platform. To take part in the UCI Board of Directors for the second time, will enable us to strengthen the global bicycle vision of our country. Together with other representatives of Europe, we will make strategic decisions that will shape the future of our sport.
