“It has been for some time that both ICO and Wallenius ask for additional areas to park new cars,” says Mayor Dirk De Fauw van Brugge.
“The grounds in the Achterhaven are also not inexhaustible. That had to come to an end. ICO is now the first to obtain a permit to build a fully automatic car holder. A building of 25,000 square meters, 2.5 hectares, 14 floors high. 44 meters high.”
The environmental permit efforts the path for the ultramodern parking tower for more than 10,000 cars. Moreover, the cars are better protected against the weather conditions and they are removed unmanned with robots without the doors still having to open. This ensures that the cars can also park much closer together. The tower could be there in two years.
