Birkenstock: Annual turnover grows more than expected

The German shoe provider Birkenstock exceeded its sales goal for the 2024/25 financial year. This emerges from preliminary figures, which the listed roof company Birkenstock Holding PLC presented on Thursday as part of a meeting with an investor: inside and analyst: inside.

According to the currently available figures, the management expects the fact that sales in the fourth quarter, which will be completed at the end of September, increases by at least 14 percent (adjusted for currency +18 percent) to at least 520 million euros. For the full year, this results in growth by 15.9 percent (currency -adjusted +17.5 percent) to at least 2.09 billion euros. This would outperform the company’s own forecasts that had a currency -adjusted plus between 15 and 17 percent.

The forecast for the EBITDA margin, which was adjusted for special effects, remained unchanged despite the currently negative Wechelkurs developments. It is still 31.3 to 31.8 percent. Birkenstock will publish his complete results for the year 2024/25 on December 18.

Birkenstock acquires a production facility near Dresden

The shoe provider also announced the acquisition of a production facility near Dresden. For the property and the associated land, the company therefore pays a net purchase of 18 million euros. The transaction is to be completed by the end of the year.

The management expects the new factory to be ready for use before the end of the 2026/27 financial year. The additional production capacities should therefore “support the growth ambitions and enable greater flexibility among product groups”. In the first phase, clogs, sandals and bed beds are to be manufactured there. The company also emphasized that it is still looking for opportunities to acquire assets in the European Union.
