AZ joined the ranking next to Ajax and the surprising FC Groningen in third place, one point behind Runner-Up PSV. Feyenoord remains the proud leader.
Koen Kostons was the hero of the evening. The Belgian striker of PEC Zwolle took care of both Zwolle hits.

Second base for Peer Koopmeiners at a rest break for Captain Jordy Clasie

The evening started well for Peer Koopmeiners: the man who saw a dream transfer to Porto to be blocked during the winter break, finally got a base place from Martens, his second of the Eredivisie season. Koopmeiners took the place of Captain Jordy Clasie, who got peace of mind. On the right wing the penny continued to change: this time record purchase Weslley Patati was preferred over Ibrahim Sadiq.

The guests were the first gas in the Takdaalpuel: ex-AZ’er Thijs Oosting Poeierde and Wouter Goes, loudly sung by their own supporters, made a shot by Kaj de Rooij harmless. Jamiro Monteiro was missing at PEC. The midfielder was sent off the field in the IJsselderby with Go Ahead Eagles. Zico Buurmeester, a mercenary of AZ, took his place.

Referee Rob Dieperink drills AZ glass pure goal through the nose

It was AZ that it was just for the first time, after incredibly fumbling from Thijs Oosting. Sven Mijnans stealed his former teammate and printed the ball from the edge of the penalty area. Rob Dieperink was the only one in the stadium to see a violation of Mijnans and rejected the goal to horror the shadow striker.

Following Oosting, Anselmo Garcia Mac Nulty also showed himself a ghost driver in the Zwolle defense by just sliding the ball into his own penalty area in an Alkmaars leg. Patati, craving for his first AZ hit, went for his own success, where he could have shifted better at Mexx Meerdink. Speaking of surrender: Koopmeiners was also able to do something and gave the ball to Jan Faberski, who messed up a promising two-to-one as a glorified amateur.

PEC goalie Tom de Graaff Saves and Blundert

The club that made the most claim to the opening goal, AZ, was eventually rewarded for that in the 38th minute. After Tom de Graaff first had a fabulous salvation on a deployment of Mijnans, cleverly played by Ro-Zangelo Daal, the PEC goalkeeper went wrong at a long shot by Kees Smit: 1-0.

For a long time the home team could not enjoy the lead. Just before half-time, Sherel Floranus swung the ball from the left flank, Faberski had the ball jump in unintentionally from his pinball foot, but herself at Koen Kostons’ feet: 1-1. Still, AZ went to rest with a lead, because after a Tiki-Taka attack in injury time with Mijnans and Meerdink as Prima Dna’s, the Little Patati angry at the second pole meters above Floranus: 2-1.

AZ steps sleep drunk from the dressing room and sees PEC striker Kostons scoring again

You can get out of the dressing room (after rest) or you can get out of the dressing room very badly. The home club did the latter: everything went wrong with the first the best Zwolle attack. Smit and Mees de Wit did walk in the defense but did not defend, Wouter Goes gave Kostons too much space and Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro should have just taken the header of the PEC striker. In other words: 2-2.
Meerdink could have been able to walk in a goodbye to De Wit with a lucky way, De Wit shot next to a promising position, Koopmeiners scamped the outside of the post from a pass from Daal and Meerdink saw a flaming shot splashing on the fists of the Graaff.

Alexandre Penetra, Clasie and Isak Jensen had now appeared within the lines, headed out of a corner by Smit Racelings in front. A better chance would no longer present itself for the home club, which was also equal to Feyenoord on Sunday in the entertaining topper (3-3).
