Ralf Rangnick continues to have health problems and therefore misses an appointment with the national team. Nevertheless, the association remains calm.
Austria’s football team boss Ralf Rangnick has to stay in the hospital for a few more days. Because of his injured right ankle, the 67-year-old cannot announce the squad for the upcoming World Cup qualification games on Monday.
At the announcement in Vienna, he is represented by his assistant Lars Kornetka. At the start of the next course of the national team on October 6, Rangnick should be there again.
Rangnick had recently had to undergo several interventions on the ankle. At the game in Bosnia-Herzegovina two weeks ago, he drove over the field on an e-bike with wide tires to protect the joint.
In the World Cup qualification, Austria will first meet San Marino on October 9, three days later the away game follows in Romania. So far, the Austrians have won all four games and are in second place with Bosnia-Herzegovina in group H. However, the direct competitor has played one more game.
