Alexandria Loutite is one of the three injuries of the past few days at the Olympic ski jump in Predazzo. Now the Canadian spoke up.

The dream has burst: Alexandria Loutittt will miss the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina next year. The Canadian suffered a serious knee injury in a fall on Friday. Now Loutitt commented on her early season. On Instagram she wrote: “I am destroyed when I think that I miss the chance to represent Canada at the highest level.”

The 21-year-old emphasized: “I have the feeling that I let my people and especially myself down.” It is “heartbreaking” to be faced with such a situation in the Olympic year. She thanked for all the help she got.

Loutite was not the only athlete who was injured in Predazzo. Eva Pinkelnig (Austria) and the Japanese combined Haruka Kasai both tore the cruciate ligament and will probably miss large parts of the season.

According to Sandro Pertile, head of ski jumping at the World Association FIS, the cause of the falls is not primarily to be found in the renovated ski jumps, but when looking for the jumper suits. “The most important thing is to keep calm and seriously evaluate the situation,” said pertile at skijumping.pl: “A large part of our attention is now due to the suits.” However, the Italian announced that the profile of the normal ski jump in Predazzo would probably have to be “adapted”.
