The Damloop among the men was surprisingly won by the Kenyan Jonathan Kamosong in a time of 46.06. Behind him, Ethiopian Ayana Geneti (46.13) and his countryman Yonah Mateiko (46.15) followed.
Obiri wins Damloop in Women
The Kenyan Hellen Obiri won among the women. The double world champion Obiri was the favorite for the victory. She passed the finish after 50 minutes and 50 seconds with which she was just short of the course record. Since 1987, that has been in the name of the Norwegian Ingrid Kristansen: 50.31.
The fastest Dutch woman was Jennifer Gulikers. She was the eighth over the finish in a time of 55 minutes and four seconds. “A super beautiful competition. I had to miss him for two years because of an injury. I was now super happy that I was at the start again. It was just enjoying.”
