Max Hopp finally wants to qualify for the Darts World Cup again. The former junior world champion “simply itches in his fingers”.

“It’s just nice to be back and play a few 100+averages again. It’s just mega fun and all the boys were happy to see me on the tour again,” said Max Hopp to “Bild”.

The 29-year-old has been playing with a Tourcard at PDC since this season. Hopp had lost that at the end of 2022 after a sporty weak months.

Now Hopp is back. The 2015 junior world champion would now be qualified for the Ally Pally via the Pro Tour Order of Merit. However, there are still ten tournaments that flow into the ranking.

“The return to the Ally Pally would mean a lot for me. I was just eight times in Ally Pally, but that’s the place, the world championship. It is getting bigger and bigger, it is actually a record World Cup in all matters this year.

“It just itches in your fingers, there is nothing better. It would be almost better.

Hopp described his “inner trust”, Hopp described his formation of form in recent months.

“It was a big topic for me that I was one of the first darts professionals in Germany at the time. The young talent. I have been compared to Mario Götze very often recently. As one who has very well-done to sport and then suddenly a bit disappeared,” said the German darts ace.

Hopp debut in 2013 at the age of 16 at the Darts World Cup in London.
