Lukas Kwasniok surprisingly painted a new addition from the matchday squad for the game of 1. FC Köln at RB Leipzig. The chief coach of the billy goats waived Alessio Castro-Montes on Friday and Jusuf Gazibegovic. The latter had been missing in the line -up against Wolfsburg a week ago. Castro-Montes, on the other hand, had only switched to FC on the Deadline Day and substituted in the wolves.

Instead of the duo, Linton Maina and Dominique Heintz moved into the contingent. Maina surprisingly lacked in the squad against Wolfsburg, while Heintz is the first nomination for a competitive game this season. The central defender is needed after the violation of RAV van den Berg and therefore moved into the team that left to Leipzig on Friday afternoon.

The 1. FC Köln has extended the contract with Luis Stapelmann. The tall central defender celebrated the German championship with the U19 last May and scored the decisive goal for Bayer Leverkusen for 5: 4 triumph. Now the club has rewarded the 18-year-old with a new contract.

“When I was informed that the FC would like to extend it early with me, I was of course enthusiastic,” said Stapelmann. Lukas Berg, Cologne’s technical director, added: “Luis took enormous development steps. He defines himself about the role of defenders and brings the skills to assert himself in the senior sector. After the early and long -term extension, we look forward to the next steps.” The FC did not announce the exact term of the new contract.

Rav van den Berg has been successfully operated on. The most expensive Cologne access of this transfer summer suffered a shoulder -deck blast at 3: 3 in Wolfsburg last Saturday. As can be heard from the Geißbockheim, the intervention went as planned.

Van den Berg, who came from the English second division club Middlesbrough for eight million euros plus, FC “several weeks” will be missing, as the club says. However, the 21-year-old central defender should by no means be as long as Sturm-Youngster Youssoupha Niang, who was operated on the shoulder in July and is still not training with the team again.
