“The Genocide Convention of 1948 obliges countries to take action. Belgium has signed that treaty, so it is our damn duty,” says Wouter Sinaeve of the in Flanders Fields Museum. The projection is part of a broader peace program in the Westhoek. On Friday, at Marktpleinen from different municipalities, around 10,000 children are expected for the ‘Truming for Peace’ campaign. “Every action is important to draw attention to peace, today more topical than ever,” says Jennie Vanlerberghe of Westhoek Vredeshoek.
