Four months after the Federal Government started, medium-sized companies with the economic policy of the black and red coalition goes to court. In a guest contribution in the “Handelsblatt”, associations of the black and red coalition accuse serious failures: “Every day without strategy, the fall height increases, the frustration increases with the companies, more people lose their joy in self-employment.”

The Secretary General of the Central Association of German Crafts, Holger Schwannecke, spoke of a “wake -up call” of which hopefully arrive. “There are some who care.”

With regard to the CDU politician Gitta Connemann, he said: “We know that we have a very committed advocate for small and medium-sized companies, especially with the federal government’s middle class officer.”

But the government’s performance urgently has to improve, said Schwannecke. “Disappointment and frustration sit deep in large parts of the economy.” It is now high time for change. Schwannecke is a author of the guest contribution, in addition to the general manager of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Helena Melnikov and the general manager of the Federal Association of Free Professions, Peter Klotzki.

Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) has announced an “autumn of reforms”. But what that means is unclear. For example, the decision of the Federal Government, contrary to the announcement in the coalition agreement, had caused great disappointment in the middle class, not to reduce electricity tax for everyone.

Criticism: No accents for medium -sized businesses

The guest contribution states that the start of the new federal government is initially encouraging with the “investment booster”. “But what the companies now feel and register are still burdens: from non -observed promises in electricity tax, half -hearted corrections in the supply chain law to the tariff loyalty law.” A drastically increasing minimum wage and record social levies raised the labor costs. “Positive accents per medium -sized company? None!”

Specifically, the associations demand: “Down with the bureaucracy and not just talk about acceleration, but also make them noticeable in the companies on site.” The income tax burden also had to go down, because it is the tax for medium -sized companies. The associations also require relief for the much too high energy costs and the additional wage costs. Germany needs an “economic restart”.
