Ground offensive in Gaza City started, spotted tanks in the city
The Israeli army (IDF) started the ground offensive in Gaza City, Axios reports on the basis of Israeli officials. According to The Jerusalem Post, IDF tanks have invaded the heart of the city.
According to Axios, the offensive started a few hours after the American Foreign Minister Marco Rubio had spoken with the Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu. Rubio would have told Netanyahu that the Trump government supports the ground surgery, but wants it to be carried out quickly and ended as quickly as possible.
“Rubio has not stopped ground surgery” Axios quotes a high Israeli official. “This is not Trump’s war, it’s Bibi’s war, and he will be responsible for what happens next,” said the American officer.
In recent weeks, Israel has intensified the air strikes in Gaza City and, among other things, collected high apartment buildings. The invasion of Gaza City is controversial worldwide.
It is estimated that more than 300,000 inhabitants of Gaza city fled south. About 700,000 people stayed in the city.
Last week, Israel carried out an air raid against Hamas leaders in Qatar, with which it further expanded its military actions, which extended throughout the Middle East.
