Women’s national boxers have achieved another success at the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool, England. Fenerbahce Club athlete, Europe and the world second Buse Naz Cakiroglu quarter-finals Indian rival Zareen Nikhat’ı 5-0, semi-finals Uzbek rival Feruze Kazakova’yı defeated 4-1 to the final. In the final, he lost a silver medal by losing his rival Alus Baltıbekova in the final.
Another finalist Büşra Işıldar left Polish and Indian rivals behind. In the quarterfinals, British Mary Kate Smith defeated 5-0 and Australian Emma Sue Greenree 5-0 in the semifinals. In the final, Irish Aoife defeated O’Rourke and completed the championship with a silver medal.
Fenerbahce athlete who represented Türkiye at +80 kilos Şeyma Düztaş won the bronze medal as the 3rd world. With these results, Türkiye completed the World Boxing Championship with 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.
The Olympic and World Champion Busenaz Surmeneli said goodbye to the quarterfinals.
