Second division team VfL Bochum has released both coach Dieter Hecking and sports managing director Dirk Dufner from their tasks.
The second division announced the decision on Monday. In a statement by the club it was said: “After a detailed analysis of the sporting situation, VfL Bochum decided to give both head coach Dieter Hecking and sports managing director Dirk Dufner from the tasks. The training is now taking over the previous U19 coach David Siebers.” Siebers has been in the club for eleven years.
Hecking is doing a bad start to the season
After the defeat against SC Paderborn on Friday and thus the third lost game in a row, Dufner had given the coach back. Now he had to clear his post with Hecking. Trainer Hecking had that VfL Bochum In November 2024 in the Bundesliga relegation battle, but could not prevent the descent into the 2nd Bundesliga. After just one win in five games in the time just started, he was now released.
