The SG Flensburg-Handewitt is getting better in shape after its bumpy start into the new season of the handball Bundesliga. Against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, the title candidate celebrated a surprisingly clear 37:29 (18:13) success on Monday evening and is a top candidate for the title in this constitution.
The team of coach Aleš Pajović played over long phases of the northern duel as in the frenzy and gave the helpless north rival a free lesson. The SG fans repeatedly rewarded the gala performance of the European League winner with a standing ovation and should now have finally forgotten the two draws at the start of the season.
“A good goalkeeper, a very good defense, an effective attack and great spectators,” were decisive for the hangover victory, said international Marko Grgic in the NDR interview.
The inferior “warriors” have to shake themselves after the second bankruptcy in the third game. Especially after a performance, which was sometimes far too disabled for Bundesliga claims. “We were inferior in all areas today. We have to creep up that very clearly,” said district runner Justus Fischer.
Flensburg overrun Hanover in the early stages
It was less than 13 minutes played in the campus hall when Christian Prokop already took his second break. “Twelve goals – what does that have to do with defense? How do we get there?” Hanover’s coach prevailed. At that time they had not yet had to accept twelve, but only ten goals, they were able to tick off the game in a 3: 10 deficit against the title candidate.
Especially since it took great imagination how the guest wanted to get the Flensburg, who had been playing completely unleashed until now. From the Hanoverian perspective, it was once again necessary to access once again. Because in the initial phase, the “stretching” had shy away from physical contact with the Flensburgers in the “Hell Nord” like the devil.
The TSV coverage? A farce! The attack? Hasted and error. In short: In the first almost 13 minutes, the guests seemed to be in the (probably sent) coach.
“Recken” despair of keeper Burić
The seven-goal deficit after almost 13 minutes was quite a board for the (and feared) “stretch” for their comeback qualities. But the Prokop protégés were ready to drill the same at least after the emotional second speech of the coach. Finally, afterwards, more courageous was packed, finally a little more determined.
The Lower Saxony could not shorten any significant things before half -time. On the one hand, this founded on the further high level of the SG attacks. On the other hand, a Teufelsker named Benjamin Burić stood in the Flensburg housing. The Bosnian parried seven litters in the first section and had a large part in the already very comfortable five-goal lead of his team.
SG even after the break as unleashed
Even after the change of sides, the 34-year-old defused two “warriors” throws. Almost every Flensburg conclusion was on the opposite side. The hosts were able to expand their lead to 24:14 (37th), so that Prokop actually had no other way to take a break again early.
Unlike in the first section, the TSV coach refrained from acting emotionally on its team. Instead, the former national coach found a lot of disillusionment: “They overrun. We cannot get back quickly and only enable them to gain slight goals. The other way around, the plan was.”
Flensburg in the meantime leads with twelve goals
With this, Prokop had briefly and aptly summarized the action on the plate. Furthermore, after the sidelines, he was powerless how his team was overwhelmed by the SG like a force of nature. In the meantime, the hosts were able to expand their lead to twelve goals.
Almost an madness in view of the fact that the fifth of the table in the past series (Flensburg) met here for the sixth of the past season. But on this memorable evening in the “Hell North” there was a class difference. At least.
