“”Deliver me from Nowhere ”: What is it about?

Bruce Springsteen is generally particularly known for his seventh studio album Born in the USA (1984), especially songs such as “I’m on Fire” and “Dancing in the Dark” gave him international success. But it is the two -year -old album, Nebraska, which the director Scott Cooper (known among other things through his 2009 work “Crazy Heart”) wants to bring to the screen.

Nebraska marked a crucial time in the life of the young musician and is now considered one of his most sustainable works. Springsteen wrote a dark record within a few weeks that describes life from its rather dreary and honest side. Nebraska is about the attempt to live up to life and from the striving for redemption that apparently never comes.

On the basis of Warren Zane’s biography “Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska” (2023), Cooper tells the history of the album. In the leading role: Jeremy Allen White.

Print, demons and a four -lane recorder: the birth of Nebraska

The “The Bear” main actor embodies the then 33-year-old, who was exposed to strong pressure after the commercial success of The River (1980), soon to force his global breakthrough. During this time, Springsteen also fought with the spirits of his past, who heavily burdened the musician at the time of the album.

Springsteen wrote the plate in his bedroom, capsized from the outside world – only he, his four -lane recorder and the history of a murderer. In ten tracks, the musician puts himself in the role of a perpetrator, his songs tell the progress of a fictional trial. Despite the printing of his label, the singer insisted on publishing Nebraska as a track list. This ultimately gave the album its urgent brown and intimate character and secured the musician as a fixture of the music industry.
