Angela de Jong has refused to include a so -called beautyshot for RTL Tonight. She received that request when she was already in Humberto Tan’s makeup space. “I really don’t do that.”
The flopped late talk show RTL Tonight initially started with a very glamorous leader, in which the guests at the desk are all announced with their own ‘Beautyshot’. They were full in the models and full in the spotlights to the camera. Extremely uncomfortable and now those beautyshots have been killed.
Beauty shot
Angela de Jong was in the show last week and was then asked to record his Beautyshot. “No, I thanked them for that. I found them so stupid. I intended to do nothing on television that I don’t feel well with and with those beauty shots I didn’t feel good at all. It wasn’t told me in advance.”
She continues in the AD Media Podcast: “They came with it when I was in the makeup. If they had told me in advance, I would have said: no. Then they could have invited me or not, but I think those shots are so far away from the ordinary man. And also to stand that way, that doesn’t suit me.”
Ordinary viewer
In fact, Angela only did something that does not suit her on TV. “I once did that once at RTL Make Up Your Mind and that was for charity. Then I had that embarrassment and everything left, but not now.”
She continues: “The problem is: I think it’s all very nice, but placing those beauty shots that clearers a long way above the ordinary viewer. You know, we see a kind of stars that will tell us how the world works, and we in the Netherlands have a brother dead to anyone who stands out with his head above ground level.”
Error
It was a bad reflection of RTL Tonight, says Angela. “So this is already a huge mistake. The difference with the leader of VI, for example, is, as it really is behind the scenes. Yes, Johan comes out of his car, Gijp is still reading the newspaper, Wilfred comes running in and immediately walks through his hand in his hand.”
That is lifelike, says Angela. “That is also true with what the viewer sees on image. And this is really too glamorous for the Netherlands.”
‘Really Sad’
How was the atmosphere behind the scenes at RTL Tonight? “I really think it is very sad, because you ask how it was behind the scenes and there I came across a lot of people I still know from the previous talk show, so from Renze and Beau. Those are all very nice, skilled people who really can do something.”
“I saw some people who worked at Pauw years ago. It is people who really want to go for it and who just want to work very hard and who really don’t put it on yet. I want to say that. They were really cheerful and worked and went for it. I really think it is a shame for that.”
