Gorillaz will release their new album “The Mountain” on March 20, 2026. The band’s ninth record comprises 15 songs, which according to their own information between Devon and London, India, Aschgabat and Damascus, Los Angeles, Miami and New York.
Spiritual music and instrumental sounds
According to their own statements, the work offers “an expansive sound landscape full of instruments and sounds, richly layered with voices, melodies and catchy beats”. There are also numerous other acts, including Anoushka Shankar, Johnny Marr, Sparks, Trueno and Yasiin Bey. The band, like Dennis Hopper and Tony Allen, also vote for the died friend: inside, have found their way onto the record. The album contains artists: inside who sing in five languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba.
Last but not least, the band has turned to spiritual music, inspired by its constant stay in India. Gorillaz drummer Russel Hobbs says: “As a star dust, we are here forever-and this is a damn long time. This is a musical meditation, penetrating light. A journey of the soul, with beats …”
“The Mountain” is said to be a playlist for a party at the border between this world and what comes next – “a journey through life and intoxication of existence”.

Tour through Great Britain and Ireland
In addition to the album release, the band also announced a tour for spring 2026. The “Mountain Tour” will lead Gorillaz, accompanied by Trueno as support, through Great Britain and Ireland. On June 20, 2026, the tour culminates in a stadium concert in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, with Sparks and Trueno. Germany-terms are not yet officially planned.
