In a video on Instagram, Heesters talks about the motives for her book.

Emma Heesters closes Cancer Chapter

“In the past year a lot has happened in my life and although I am very happy to commit myself to the awar in cervical cancer and cancer among young adults, I notice that it is actually very intense for myself to talk about this traumatic event,” the singer explains. “I am ready to close a part of my cancer chapter. For that reason I have decided to write a book.”

“I have decided to write everything down, as processing, but also in the hope that you will answer all your questions. And what I hope: support. You are not alone,” said Heesters. Part of the proceeds of the book goes to the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Foundation.

The 29-year-old singer was told last October in October that she had cervical cancer. She underwent several treatments for this and announced this summer that she was in remission.
