The 1. FC Köln has determined its new team council. In addition to the captains Marvin Schwäbe and Ron-Robert Zieler, newcomers Marius Bülter and home-grown Jan Thielmann will also be part of the committee.

Coach Lukas Kwasniok had deliberately delayed the choice and only arranged after the end of the international break. Background: The 44-year-old first wanted to wait for the end of the transfer phase on September 1st. “I have had the experience that you choose the advice – and a few weeks later, two players are already gone,” Kwasniok had explained his approach some time ago.

Now the professionals were allowed to vote on the Geißbockheim on Thursday after the return of all national players. In addition to the two captains Marvin Schwäbe and Ron-Robert Zieler, who are automatically and determined by Kwasniok, a distinction was made between long-term actors and new additions. The result: Bülter represents the group of new players, Thielmann that of the experienced. “This is how the team chose,” said Kwasniok.

There was a small special feature: there was a tie between two players, the voice of captain Schwäbe twice. Kwasniok said with a wink: “His voice was worth as much as that of Dieter Bohlen at DSDS when the fourth in the jury was sitting.

Compared to the previous season, the team council shrinks from five to four members. In the second division season, under ex-coach Gerhard Struber, in addition to the then captains Timo Hübers and Mark Uth, Florian Kainz, Eric Martel and also Thielmann were part of the committee. Now Kwasniok are at the side of Kwasniok in addition to the own plant.
