Hilversum can then use that 2.5 million euros extra to make the parking app more user -friendly, according to the residents of the Schilderskwartier. There are quite a few complaints about that.

Decrease in parking costs

Their expectation is that the proceeds are much more this year than before. But because the municipality says no financial motives for paid parking in De Voer, the residents therefore only ask ‘a decrease in parking costs for the permit holders and the costs for the visitors’.

In addition, they ask the paid parking rules to be in force until 8 p.m. and the visitor scheme until 9 p.m. They also think that visitors should be able to park more hours at a reduced rate.

Independent evaluation

Finally, they want a thorough and independent evaluation of paid parking in their neighborhood and an overview of the parking income per hour in all neighborhoods where the new measure is in force.

The residents are convinced that the outcome is that the usefulness of paid parking in residential areas after 6 pm is missing.

The municipality has not yet responded to the letter from the Hilversum neighborhood. The issue is discussed tonight in the council committee.
