He seat belt It is a primary element for driving. But, although most know the mandatory and the benefits of using it, very few have the habit of always carrying it folded and placed. Something similar occurs with the cell phone: although the danger it represents using it is known, most admit.

The Observatory of Cecaitrathe camera that brings together the road software manufacturing companies made a telephone survey in Homes of the CABA and Greater Buenos Aires, to know the opinion of drivers about the two issues.

First, he wondered How often does the cell phone look while driving? And 7 out of 10 (69%) replied that he uses it on some occasion: 25% said that from time to time he looks at his mobile device when driving and 44% said he almost always does. Only 31% admitted that I never used it.

The National Traffic Law 24,449, in its article 48 subsection X, prohibits “driving using headphones and communication communication systems continuous manual”so it is considered a serious fault, which can be punishable with a fine of up to 100 fixed units (each UF is equivalent to 1 liter of naphtha of greater octane informed by the Automobile Club Argentino, headquarters city of La Plata).

“The possibilities of starring in a road accident increase when the driver performs some action that distracts him. From Cecaitra we highlight the importance of conducting with attention, respect and responsibility. With the use of cell phone, none of these three conditions is met”highlighted the spokesman of the Road Observatory, Facundo Jaime.

According to the World Health Organization Driving distractions can be of four types: Visuals (how to look away from the road); cognitive (for example, reflect on a conversation issue that is being talked on by phone, instead of attending the tour); Physical (like when a driver holds or manipulates a device, instead of driving with both hands behind the wheel), and auditory (for example, respond to a cell phone). In a phone call these four distractions are simultaneously, which implies a high risk for driving.

“Article 30 of the National Transit Law, which raises the requirements for motor rates, establishes as minimal safety devices to circulate the emails.
