The greenhouses were probably collapsed after work. To work faster and more efficiently, a series of support beams would have been removed, instead of one by one. This made the greenhouse unstable. When there was also a breeze, the entire complex in each other.
Everything down in one go
Cleaning up was not an unusual job, because there are more often greenhouses collapse through gusts of wind. Yet Van de Helm has not experienced this before.
“Not on this scale. Normally we break down greenhouses little by little. First the interior out and then step by step the rest, but now everything came down in one go.” All materials, including glass, rock wool, aluminum and concrete, are recycled.
