Sagutter Sanne de Laat from Helmond, together with her teammate at the World Cup in South Korea, has won the world title in the Compound section for mixed teams. In the final they narrowly won against India.

Last year De Laat and her Limburg shooting partner Mike Schloesser already took the European title on the same part. To reach the World Cup final, the duo had to force a place twice through a shoot-off on Saturday.

In the final battle they stood opposite Indian top duo and world record holders Rishabh Yadav and Jyothi Surekha. It became a blood -curdling match, in which the Dutch came closer in the second half. Eventually De Laat and Schloesser narrowly pulled the longest.

Schloesser is currently the number one in the world ranking, while De Laat is 72nd. This is mainly because she comes into action less often.

In 2028 the compound compound for mixed teams is on the program of the Olympic Games for the first time.

What is a compound arch?

A compound arch is a modern arch with wheels and pulleys. This makes it easier to shoot harder, further and more precisely.

In addition to the compound there are three other disciplines in archery: the Longbow (traditional), the Barebow (without visor and stabilizers) and the recurvebog (with visor and stabilizers).

The compound is especially popular in the US and is therefore allowed for the first time at the Olympic Games from 2028. The Netherlands also often throws high eyes on the compound section.
