Actually, he wanted to contest the duel in the World Cup qualification with Croatia. Then Josip Stanišić’s plan changed.

Croatian international Josip Stanišić missed the World Cup qualification game against the Faroe Islands. On Friday he was not in the squad of the Vice World Champion of 2018. As “Sport1” reported, the defender of FC Bayern traveled back to Germany-for a good reason.

Accordingly, Stanišić expects the birth of his second child. Already in January 2024 the 25-year-old father became a son. Now a daughter should follow. The Croatian national team expects Stanišić to be back against Montenegro for the next World Cup qualification game on Monday.

Stanišić has been playing the German record champion since youth. In the 2023/24 season he was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen – with the club he remained undefeated in the season and won the double. He made his debut for the national team at the World Cup qualification game against Cyprus (3-0).
