It is really crying with the cap for all the makers of RTL Tonight: the program hit a free fall and yesterday set a miserable score. “Even Shownieuws scores even better!”
RTL 4 boss Peter van der Vorst will regret that he did not focus on growth-brilliant Renze Klamer and his talk show of the same name. Humberto Tan also set very considerable viewing figures in the final phase of the regular RTL talk show. Now that the gentlemen, together with Beau van Erven Dorens, have merged into RTL Tonight, there is nothing left of it.

RTL Tonight scores lousy. Very lousy. After 897 thousand viewers for the premiere on Sunday, 404 thousand, 369 thousand and 409 thousand people watched the program from Monday to Wednesday. Unfortunately for the makers, a new low record was touched yesterday: 304 thousand viewers.
Tina Nijkamp, the viewing grade authority of our country, is in shock. “What a disappointment for the makers. RTL Tonight does not benefit from the end of the Dutch team match,” she says, pointing to the fact that RTL Tonight started in contrast to other talk shows after the football on NPO 3 had ended.
‘In a free fall’
This looks really bad, Tina said on her analysis canal. “The viewing figures get into a free fall and the show notes a low point with only 304 thousand viewers. Also in 25 to 54 years now no longer good: 13.5 percent. Au. 😳 is this still going well?”
It is not just a disappointing score, she continues. “How low is 304,000 viewers? Very low. The program is too much of everything and chats too often. Not relevant enough. It is not the lowest score ever for an RTL talk show. Twan Huys once had 188 thousand viewers there.”

The Dutch national team, which scored 1.6 million viewers on NPO 3, was already finished playing football when RTL Tonight started. Pauw & De Wit was in return and nevertheless managed to fascinate 631 thousand viewers.
Tina: “Extra painful for RTL Tonight is that they were overtaken yesterday by direct competitor Shownieuws: 339 thousand viewers versus 304 thousand for RTL Tonight. Tonight it will be exciting because it is then after Holland’s Got Talent and there is no Pauw & De Wit. So less competition.”
If RTL Tonight also does not score, then the television death of the program is definitively used.
